interesting...i've just written a small research paper on wahhabism - which made me realise that there really isn't a whole lot of material out there, and most of what little i came across was heavily biased one way or the other (i.e. extremely weary or extremely supportive of the wahhabi school of thought). this "aggressive missionary work" mentioned in the article is interesting, as is the fact that they are targeting the British public "in search of an identity" as this is what Ibn Abd-el-Wahab had in mind in the first place: to create a unifying force that would surpass the segregation and "religious dissonance" (polytheism) that dominated at the time (18C). which made me realise that there really isn't a whole lot of material out thereI'm not surprised mona, just after 9/11, I came across bunch of sentiments suggesting there is no such thing as Wahabism. fact that they are targeting the British public "in search of an identity"On this particular point, on how to counter their strategy, watch this wonderful talk. click here On this particular point, on how to counter their strategy, watch this wonderful talk. click herethanks for the link, arifsali. watching it now.....certainly interesting! |
