ACORN is a good organization that helps the poor.

In particular, it mobilizes the poor to get out the vote, and that's one of the things that the conservatives hate the most about it.

Plus, conservatives just flat out hate the poor, anyway, so any organization the helps poor, urban (read 'black') folk is bound to be demonized by the GOP.

This article is from Wikipedia (not a great source) but not biased. It does not say anything about conservatives or blacks. You are misguided if you think everyone is not concerned about the poor. Your method of "helping" them is just different than that of conservatives. You think if more money is poured on them, things will get better. Have they? As long as the poor can blame someone else for their situation and look to government help, they will not get better, only worse.
