walking past the bodies of Iraqi soldiers, a member of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team asks quietly."why do we do these things?"... I couldn't see thro' my tears by the time I had reached the end of these pics...

I think... the reason why such a thing can happen to one another is because there exist some people who want for the thing to happen. If nobody want to continue it, then why will we do it...?

It is the nature of man's sick state. Some people cause suffering, some people work to prevent suffering. However, we really have no choice but to belong to one of these camps. We never will be any different. We only have one hope.
In this world the materialists are bent on destruction. What can be the response of those wanting peace, when our world is turned upside down.
These pics are heart-wrenching, but they are a result of Evil.
We MUST love our enemies, but that does not mean we do not kill them.

Simple: cause you always want a bit MORE of something, don't you? And who cares if the things you want cause someone half the world away from you suffer a bit, eh?

Its human nature to argue and violence is an expression of that. Technology will put a stop to it in the end. I just the same way one day there will be no more disease one day there will be no way to do evil. For example genetic engineering can remove psychopaths from the gene pool. But its not going to happen any time soon.

Mug, I said the same thing after the Oklahoma City bombings. I was pregnant at the time and they showed the image of the firefighter coming out with Bailey in his arms (the baby). I almost collapsed. I was bawling so hard. During Sept. 11th, I was napping, and my husband was watching it happen with my neighbor. My neighbor who's wiccan/atheist (her words), came running into my room excited with a grin on her face saying guess what we've been attacked and a ton of people just died. How can you be thrilled about that? How can anyone take pleasure in knowing someone's son, daughter, sister, brother, mother, father, etc... just died? I was stunned. I literally didn't know what to say to...

This is what I mean by we are either against evil or we are for it. This is an obvious example. The examples that aren't so obvious are prevalent. The disguise themselves as peace lovers, portray those that want peace as the problem, and offer solutions that are bent on creating more havoc in the world.

as long as people like us are there, who still believe in the goodness of the people, irrespective of all these evil, I sincerely believe that there would be a better dawn some day...may not be too soon...but the dawn will come!

We have to keep asking this question. We have to stop being afraid when we are bullied into keeping silent when inhumane things are being done against others. Our silence is our complicity.

Thank you for sharing.

I agree Mug. I firmly believe there is good in almost all people. I also people what we put out, we get back. I'm raising my daughter to do good deeds to various people in need. For example, right before Christmas and birthdays, we go through her gently used toys and find what she doesn't used anymore but still looks new and donate it to children who live in shelters and don't have any toys to play with. While shopping, if I see an elderly woman having trouble, or gentlemen for that matter, I'll get her involved in helping them in some way, whether it be finding something they need, or lifting something heaving, even though I'm not supposed to lift heaving items. (I'd rather I lift it,...

Truly heart-wrenching. May 'God,' forgive us all.
