Corn crops, for instance (the current hybrids of which are largely inedible), go to livestock feed (50%), ethanol (25%), corn sweeteners (25%). We do not feed the world - but we could, if farmers could make a living doing so. Making hogs fat and soda sweet has a more negative than positive affect on the world, IMHO. |
