Observe the present economy. How has trickle-down affected America? Indeed. How dare they tell us tax cuts bring prosperity!

The aphorism "a rising tide lifts all boats" is associated with the idea that improvements in the general economy will benefit all participants in that economy, and that economic policy, particularly government economic policy, should therefore focus on the general macroeconomic environment first and foremost.
The phrase is said to have been coined by Seán Lemass, the Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) in 1959–1966

..."a rising tide lifts all boats"

Obviously this does not apply in the capitalist countries like America, where more are drowning now that when Bush took over!!!

Right! And I think that now, while the evidence is so clearly on the table for all to see, is the time to say it everywhere.

Trickle-down is fiction. Tax cuts do not stimulate business.

Matthew 15:27 She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Christian values and greed do not mix. Even dogs do badly in a selfish society adoring the once might dollar, but where only the elite get richer and the bar gets higher.

Maybe some lessons from Eastern societies where family values really mean something.

How very true. Extremes of capitalism are no more at home with true Christianity than are extremes of any other economic system. They're just tools, subject to the whims of their users, useful for good or ill.

Yea...trickle-down is a bad joke. Amazing how brainless and empty such right-wing mantras really are.

Bubble up would be better. At least that way most of us would have a chance of diving into the percolation.

I think every adult should be given a $10,000 loan backed by the government, and this would 'bubble up,' as I buy some building material (Home Depot could get back in business)...upgrade some software, get a new computer, take some ed classes and rush out to get a new 47-inch plasma TV.

The economy would be stimulated. I and many other would be happy.

Compared to giving trillions of dollars in loan guarantees to Wall Street speculators my idea, above, is as American as Apple Pie.
