Unfortunately it's not a joke. We tend to treat our criminals with kid gloves. Near Vancouver within days of each other two violent sex offenders walked away from the minimum security prison they were incarcerated in. Minimum security meaning no fence around the prison. It's actually more like a budget style resort.
