Is science biased? Probably; but at least it is biased towards the facts.

He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of
seven who also said that he believes the Earth is 14,000 years old.
"The information that's being presented is a very cockeyed view of what
the truth is. ... The Bible says that in the end times everything will
burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD."
These people should not be allowed to procreate.

Would be nice if lots of people sent emails to this so-called "School Board" (see link in the article, or click here). I think we are all "at risk" in many ways by having screwball religious types in charge of school boards...... in our court systems.....in our schools......influencing our children......etc, etc. We hand our kids over to these nutballs, and don't really know what kind of ridiculous crap they are being fed! Reminds me of the old movie "The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers".......in this case, it would be "The Brain Snatchers". Watch out for the "Brain Pods!"

Oh please!! How could anyone in this day & age say the earth is ONLY 14,000 years old!! The evidence is INDISPUTABLE that it is OVER one billion years old. American religious fundamentalists are as bad as the mad mullahs of Islam. Totally blinkered to any view but their own, & determined to change things to suit their way of life, & bugger the rest of us. Their evil influence is even reaching to Australia now. And even our politicians are starting to spout religious views as govt public policy. Emulating the sychophantic way American pollies pander to American religious groups.

Get these people out of education, before you find yourselves back in the days when it was a crime to say the eart...

I sent off an email to the school board along with about 3,500 others, protesting their action in banning Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" documentary, The school board voted on the issue and I received the following email.

"School District in Washington Lifts Ban On Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth

We did it!

Last night the Federal Way School Board lifted the moratorium, or "temporary ban," on Al Gore's Oscar-nominated documentary An Inconvenient Truth!

Thank you for being one of nearly 3,500 Americans to tell the Federal Way School Board to base its decisions on fact and not to be held hostage by an extremist minority. With the help of you...

Excellent news schreibe, thank you for reporting it to us. It just goes to show that sometimes the average gay or gal can do something to change a ridiculously negative situation.

Thanks scrheibe for keeping us informed. This is the kind of proactive work that needs to be done to get rid of goons like these.

My school district won't allow it either because it deems it political and thinks that teachers will use it to force views on students! We were going to watch it in biology when we dealt with global warming, but a parent (again) complained and the district ruled in their favor. Democracy in action, you have to love it! (NOT)

Actually, not all of Al Gore's film is based on science. Some of the film is base on opinion. If they are going to show the film, they should let the students know that the film is not entirely based on fact.

bferman, that sounds perfectly fair to me.
