Naturally, the dependence on dogma binds all religions together but I can't really recall mainstream churches relying on such litigious tactics as the Scientology Cult routinely engages in. And that doesn't even touch on the alleged strong arm tactics used by this cult to intimidate and coerce people. Then there's the particularly aggressive leaching of monies from people that they are particularly good at.

Sure organized religion deals in similar tactics but not with the ferocity and in-your-face intimidation of Scientology. Certain cults come close but they are normally local in reach and don't market themselves like the Hubbard crowd uses.
