The plant forms a nice, sturdy, 3' tall x 3' wide clump with leaf blades about 12" long and 7" wide on upright, roundish green petioles. The flower spathe is hooded (i.e., cucullate) with the whole flower structure hiding below the leaf. A. cucullata is just perfect where elephant ear form and texture is needed without the large size.
