bunnicula, if you like garlic try these:

Garlic Roasted Green Beans
Cook’s Illustrated--Nov/Dec 2005

1 pound green beans, stem end snapped off
1 tablespoon olive oil
5-6 garlic cloves cut into halves or thirds
Table salt and ground black pepper

Adjust oven rack to middle position; heat oven to 450°. Line rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil; spread beans on baking sheet. Drizzle with oil; using hands, toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with ½ teaspoon salt, toss to coat, and distribute in an even layer. Roast 10 minutes.

Remove baking sheet from oven. Using tongs, redistribute beans. Continue roasting until beans are dark golden brown in spots and have started to shrivel, 10 t...

me too! this sounds delicious- i'm annoyed b/c i just got back from the grocery store and picked up asparagus..would WAY prefer this dish!

This sucks.... I want this so bad, but we didn't grow any beans this year and the ones at the grocery store are always dried and wilty and probably don't taste so good.
