michellezm says: "Without the engagement of the head and the heart, relationships are not a safe place to be, but the bright woman is headstrong enough to tell herself that she will be able to make this work." In other words, we fall at the first hurdle because we override our gut instinct." Interesting......explains alot!!! Sure does. No wonder the divorce rate is so high. I think a lot might have to do with men being intimidated. As well, I find that if God chooses then I don't have to. It worked! fall at the first hurdle because we override our gut instinct."michellezm, well phrased...trust the gut, don't trust the brain... No wonder the divorce rate is so highi was just at a wedding, last sunday...and the bride said, "i love him, because he makes me laugh"??? how many women shave said that? shouldn't she said...instead of "he makes me love."??? looking for love for all the right reasons... its plain and simple the distinction lies at the threshold of respecting the other person"s feeling and leaving room for the own natural growth.. and not always trying to win(in this case the woman) the intelligent debate( a normal conversation about opinions, likes and preferences) between a man and a woman.. i love him, because he makes me laugh"??? how many women shave said that? I was married to my best friend...we would stay up all night laughing and being silly...it was like a never ending slumber party...even though we are no longer together (8 years now) I cherish those memories, in fact every once in awhile we (my ex-husband and I) will talk for hours about the old days and how fortunate we were to have found each other and marry. How many married couples can honestly say they married their best friend? Though my marriage ended in divorce... I know what we shared together (besides two beautiful children) was special and rare and it began with laughter. We all want the perfect relationship - one that is effortless. But marriage takes attention and work to maintain that effortless flow of give, take, communication and respect. I'm in love with a wonderful woman and we have our ups and downs, but each of us knows the value of staying open with each other if we hope for "us" to last beyond next week. I wish the both of you the best! err... |
