Does not seem like a good fit, especially when you consider the 2 for 1 deal Obama gets with both Hillary and Bill. It would be interesting to see what effect this has on the Hillary voters that would jump to McCain if Obama is the nominee. Also, how does Clinton fit in to the whole "hope" and "change" scenario?

I have many pro-Obama friends who say that, much as it would pain them, they would vote for McCain if Hillary got the VP slot. That's how much we all DON'T want her near the Oval Office.

Wow, wiccantexan, that is interesting and quite surprising. Thanks.
I would have guessed that Obama supporters that dislike Clinton would just hold their noses and except the ticket.

It would hurt him tremendously. Look at all the stuff that's attached to Hillary. It would become attached to Obama and override his message of change by going with one of the worst examples of old-school politics and negative campaigning as his VP. Did you know that the Clintons are up for a fraud trial around the end of 2008? There's simply too much Clinton baggage for Obama to bring on board.

Also, no one really believes that Bill, an impeached President, would keep on the sidelines. He'd be a constant thorn in Obama's side and undermine his effectiveness.

In essence, if she was #2 and something happened to Obama (it was 8 years between the first and second WTC attacks; it will be 8 years after 9/11 when the new President takes office), having her take charge temporarily or permanently would be a disaster.

And, I believe, dangerous for the nation. If she's this inflexible in the nomination process, she'd sink us on the world stage diplomatically.
