This is why people who truly follow the Philosophy of Christ utterly reject the Right Wing, and instead embrace a Centrist or Liberal stance on things. Religions are not representing the Will of God, but rather, the will of man; greedy, callous, heartless man, to be specific. People paint themselves with the "Christian" label, simply for being a member of those glorified social clubs known as Religions, hoping people won't notice the small, petty, pathetic person they are under the facade.

The Right Wing is only interested in power at all costs, and Religion is their camouflage.

darkeforce, you hit it dead on the nose. Those people are very dangerous because they hide behind that one thing that most people sympathize with. But me, I think the worst thing you could today is get involved with any religion. They are simply nuts.

Well, harv, I agree about darkeforce, and I certainly agree that there are a lot of religious folks who act nutty, but Martin Luther King and Dorothy Day and Desmond Tutu and Mohandas Gandhi and Dietrich Bonhoeffer and a million like them - also sprang from deep religious roots. Those extraordinary few rejected the humanism of religions, and found the true Word of God within. As they say, the best lies contain a grain of the truth. But remember that in every church that is truly living the love and acceptance of true Christianity, there are bad seeds within seeking to corrupt it from within, and without.

Plus the fact that as you go up the chain of "command", the greater the corruption becomes, until you get someone like the Pope, sitting in a palace full of incr...

Power is somehow antithetical to the example of Jesus. I don't have this figured out yet, though, in practical terms!
