US army medically induced drug addicts. It's a cheap option. Government controls the purse, Top Brass distributes the medicine, and poor old Tommy Atkins or GI Joe cop the result. It is a scandal. Whether we agree with a war or not our servicemen and women are deserving of society's support whatever the cost. Yet if they were caught smoking a joint, out the door and no bonus. Keep 'em drugged and stupid, that's the government's way of holding down the cost, and making sure the word is stifled. Once these guys are out of service, let 'em go cold turkey, we don't need them anymore. Compassionate conservatism anyone? When is the govt going to start taking care of our troops and vets? No wonder 1/3 of the homeless are vets! Who can we scream to to get the govt to give them top priority? I've written my reps, but all I get is a thank you for my concern, we are working on it, etc. All lip service. Our troops deserve a helluva lot more from us! Maybe we need a march on Washington to let them know we are fed up! I've met several vets and active troops lately. Please thank them when you see them. They NEED our praise and support! This is really disturbing to me. But as I know many vets its nothing new. In Vietnam speed was given out like candy to many. 25% of our homeless are vets, and this number will grow, and no wonder with this crap going on. Yet people sit in prisons for smoking pot. The failed drug war has only fueled the criminal aspect of profiteering off selling drugs. A march is long overdue and until people stand up in huge numbers to address these issues, the politicians will continue ruining this country till every thread of decency, justice, and equality are lost forever. WE must demand change with the loudest voice possible. Is our consumer driven public even capable of demanding anything anymore... They did the same thing to me when I got hit in 'Nam. Ya keep the Vets doped up and they have a tendency to stay that way..., real quite like. Didn't really want to quit after a while. And it was FREE! |
