I have no factual basis for making this prediction, but i don't think the iPhone sales are going to be as great as everyone is predicting. I agree with you, Eric. I think the iPhone will be something that a great number of consumers will want, but far fewer will buy into. What conditions do I feel would increase sales and use? A lower retail price, and compatibility with more than just one carrier. Also, I'm not sure that AT&T was the wisest pick, as I don't see the partnership as being equally symbiotic: AT&T has more to gain, not Apple. I do, however, see the iPhone as a modern marvel — something that is likely to define the future of the mobile market. I'm excited to see other companies move in a similar direction as Apple with user-friendly, all-in-one devices (smart phones just don't cut it); but I, for one, am not ready to buy-in just yet. |
