That must be why we have had the coldest winter in 30 years in the Northeast... As if we need NASA to tell us that. I believe the global warming crisis is mostly a political problem. On a different perspective altogether, global warming is a kind of self imposed intelligence test to the whole of mankind. If we manage to pass, we may face a brighter saner future. Otherwise, the prospects are quite grim. global warming is a kind of self imposed intelligence test to the whole of mankind.... the science of which is being influenced by politics and, strangely, religion. But on even closer inspection, it's being influenced by selfishness. Big money controlling the information flow to the masses so they can continue to make big money at the ultimate expense of everyone else. The scientists are attempting to have an independent voice; but the audience is greatly influenced by... religion. And so the intelligence test becomes even more significant. Scientists have no stake in global warming. But the producers of fossil fuels do. Scientists have no stake in global warming.lol Or maybe they do, which would be.... what? That must be why we have had the coldest winter in 30 years in the Northeast...You are making in incorrect assumption based on the name "global warming". We know that the global temperatures have been rising, we know that our ice fields are melting and the poles are getting smaller. It is a fact that the climate is changing to the warmer. This warming trend and melting ice is releasing more water for the oceans, as well as creating more surface areas of water at the poles to evaporate more moisture. With more moisture there is more precipitation. More precipitation during the cold seasons is going to make it colder. More fresh water in our oceans is going to change fluid dy... (cont) If it is cyclic that doesn't stop the fact that the agricultural belts of the world are going to be moving as the temperatures increase. In a few years/decades Canada may have the farming climates that the US currently use and our farming belts will be too hot to effectively farm in. The US may soon become a great place for growing bananas and pineapples .. who knows? The point is arguing over who's fault it is is a waste of time. Frankly the cause is not the issue. The issue is how are we going to adapt to the changes? Changing our pollution habits and making "greener" laws is certainly helpful and beneficial regardless if humanity is responsible or not..Well said. |
