righthand says:
Human beings, then, are not killers by nature. Political leaders, including our own, whose aim it is to further their political goals through violence, have recognized that this reluctance to kill, this foundational aspect of a human being’s moral identity, jeopardizes their ability to wage war effectively. Consequently, following the Second World War, warrior preparation – basic training/boot camp – was modified to shift its focus from acquainting soldiers with tactics and weaponry to rather sophisticated techniques of value manipulation, moral desensitization, and psychological conditioning, aimed at destroying/overriding the recruits’ moral aversion to killing.

Second, the reality of combat is such that few men kill or are willing to die for ideology, issues of justice, god or country. What ultimately motivate soldiers to kill and to die in battle are personal honor, self-respect, and their loyalty and accountability to their comrades.

So why did the Irish Republican Army kill innocent people all those years? What was the real reason?

its fantasy to suggest that human beings are not killers by nature! its the one absolute certainty is that killing is inhumane, but not inhuman - and civilisation precepts conditions individuals to accept moral prohibitions exists because people have killed to preserve those absolutes.

I would love to believe that humans are not killers by nature, but history seems to suggest the opposite and just the by sheer viciousness of what they sometimes do. Torture, horrible weapons etc. We call crocodiles killers, tigers, sharks and so on. Does mankind (seeing it from and animal's perspective too even), not so rightly deserve to be labelled killers by nature? I think they do. Death by fellow man is almost a norm these days for many people too. Like in Iraq. Military training is just the honing of already present *skills* I think. How sad that is actually... ;(

...still waiting for an eloquent answer to my question posed above. From the person who had the audacity to post about killers and training to kill others.

Second time of asking?

The question is so so badly framed. It indicates a total lack on knowledge about the struggle for Irish independence. You would have thought that any self-respecting American would know about the struggle for independence by American patriots from our common former master. Is that not thought in your schools? Maybe it is just a case of someone being permanently absent, mentally.

The rest of this message is only for that person who for some reason has not yet learnt to use a rather tame, bland, search engine called Wikipedia. It is where you check out in...

Thanks for the sugar coated explanation. Now maybe you can tell the rest of us how and why they killed scores of innocent people with guns and bombs, the very same things you detest (mostly) about the U.S. The IRA was branded as a terrorist organization and will be one of the black marks on Irish history for years. Ask the English what they think of the IRA, they'll tell you straight out. No sugar coating.

BTW, I wanted to see if YOU could give an unbiased explanation as to why the IRA killed innocent people. You failed to do that, without trying to ridicule me. Nice try.

Here's more on the IRA:

Provisional Irish Republican Army (Irish name: Óglaigh na hÉireann) (PIRA; more commonly referred to as the IRA, the Provos, or by some of its supporters as the Army or the 'RA) is an Irish Republican, left wing[2] paramilitary organisation that, until the Belfast Agreement, sought to end Northern Ireland's status within the United Kingdom and bring about a United Ireland by force of arms and political persuasion. Since its emergence in 1969, its stated aim has been the overthrow of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and their replacement by a sovereign socialist all-island Irish state.[3]

Your question again for the last time was ...

So why did the Irish Republican Army kill innocent people all those years? What was the real reason?
...and that is what I referenced for you. Now you have shifted to the Provisional Irish Republican Army. Do you know what it is that you want? No! I had noted earlier ...

The question is so so badly framed. It indicates a total lack on knowledge about the struggle for Irish independence....
You do not appear to even read my replies to your questions nor thank me for my aid. Most ungrateful! Like I have done, could you please put in your references when you lift quotes from some source. It is he...

The REAL Napster
As you saw in my last post the IRA is also called the PIRA. The organisation is classified as an illegal terrorist group in the United Kingdom[4] and as an illegal organisation in the Republic of Ireland.

(this is all from WIkipedia- you forgot how to use it already?). The answer to the question I asked you which has STILL not been answered correctly is thus:

This clip claims that only the U.S. trains killers and forces men to kill others, when in fact Ireland has their own share of blood on their hands, for years. The fact that Ireland was in a war of 'independence' does not excuse them from the fact that they used terrorist means to try and acheive their goals and many innocent c...

That I know of, this clip made no such claim nor was any such 'claim' made by me. Probably, you are getting your knickers in a twist again over another misreading of what is in front of your nose. This is getting to be a habit. Quote exactly what it is that you are misreading and I'll try to sort things out for you as I promised.

Were those kids on your street no help in showing you how to put in references? Tried before and failed then, too? Ah well, annoying your neighbours has bigger consequences than annoying us here. If you must ask dumb questions, at least ask the right dumb question. Better still, don't ask any dumb questions!

I'm not sure if this last post of yours was directed towards me. Could it be that you have misposted? Or is it simply that you have totally got the wrong end of the stick again as usual.

I'm glad you like my comments. I'll be sure to comment on all of your clips from now on. Enjoy.
The prospect of you bring up my rear does not give me pleasure. But then you do enjoy crap. Everyone to his own. I am glad that I've given you life some meaning.

Get going there quick, you are falling way behind.
