brazilnut72 says: My guess is that this is just another ploy by Chavez to garner media attention while at the same time tweaking the Americans. I worked for "Mickey D's" for five years, and know that they go WAY out of their way to abide by government regulations. Gotta be tough on the Venezuelans who will be out two day's pay. If Obama gets elected, he'll probably try to do the same thing here. Maybe then people will start to pay attention. Finally a demagogue that manages to do something right! Now if he could change his uniform I think he would make him one fashionable potentate. As for Obama.... maybe it was out of health concerns.. Hugo's been chewing too much cocoa leaves again. Way to jump to conclusions without knowing the real situation. For all you know, McDonald's Venezuela has been cooking the books for a crime syndicate. It's nice to know that prejudice is alive and well in America. ... oh, wait. That was never in question. Thanks for the reminder of why Republicans and their supporters are on the slime-mold tier of the evolutionary ladder. darkeforce, First of all...if you look at my comment, you notice that I said it was "my guess". I am not rattling these things off as facts. I am simply surmising based on what I know of McDonalds as a corporation, and what I know of Hugo (Mr. Danger) Chavez. Of course it is true that McDonalds could be completely guilty and Chavez simply doing his governmental duty...but everything I have ever seen from either party makes that seem quite unlikely. You, on the the other hand, make some pretty broad and definitive generalizations of Americans in general and Republicans in specific. Let's see, we have the trend of Chavez doing many, many things to help the poor in his nation empower themselves, so based on that trend, it seems very likely that he closed down the McDonalds for reasons to benefit his citizens. As for what I'm stated about my many experiences with Republicans and Conservatives in general; my opinions are entirely the fault of said Conservatives. I used to like them; but then I saw what they were really about, and I couldn't hold my lunch anymore. Maybe if you want me to get a better opinion of Republicans, perhaps you should convince them to stop being amoral scumbags? |
