Thanks for the lovely pictures Cakebelly Not just beautiful, but breathtakingly beautiful. BTW picture number 3 (Ham Hill) is where my dad's ashes were scattered. There are two Waterman's named on the war memorial in the photo (a great uncle and dad's cousin) My sister lives in the village at the foot of the hill - Stoke-sub-Hamdon; the village in which my father was born and where I spent most of my childhood Christmases. I also made regular visits to Perry's cider farm as a youth - good, strong, cheap cider. Thanks for those cakebelly. Deep, strong roots nurtured by golden memories and beauty. Sounds truly idyllic, John. Beautifully put cakebelly. Somerset is home. Although not there now I hope to return to end my days there and complete the circle - Scattered on top of Ham Hill with Dad |
