Nostalgia may be a disease born from discontent and lack of tools and strategy to deal with current events in one's life. How would we deal with a Solar flare, etc. that took out satellite feeds, telecom or knocked out the power grid? Might want the good ol' days pdq, if it lasted long. The lure of "The Golden Age" is very strong. The idea of the Noble Savage has been discounted more times than I care to count, but it keeps cropping up again and again. |
