I really don't get why people fantasize over an ideal past. was it easier, more interesting and stimulating 100 years ago? i don't think so. i would much rather live now and anticipate the now which is to come after...

"If I only knew then what I know now." Then, going back might be more sci fi and an iPhone would be magic. Nostalgia may be a disease born from discontent and lack of tools and strategy to deal with current events in one's life.
How would we deal with a Solar flare, etc. that took out satellite feeds, telecom or knocked out the power grid?
Might want the good ol' days pdq, if it lasted long.
