This is sad. However, at the same time, it is encouraging that we will now have a National Debate about the war without the hedging from the Left. This means the 2008 election will be solely about the war on terrorism. NYC can be had by Clinton. I am confident the rest of the Country is smarter than that.

Open question: Would it be to their advantage if those who support the war called it a War on Jihadism (or Islamism; or Islamofascism) as opposed to a War on Terror? Terror after all is only a tactic and the term "terror" has given the defeatists most of their ammo since they can claim there were no real "terrorists" in Iraq at the start of the war. Granted they gloss over the fact that terrorists are certainly being fought in Iraq now, but hawks also diminish the importance of our winning the war in Iraq by only speaking of terror. Seems to me this would be akin to focusing on Havana as the center of the Evil Empire during the Cold War, not Moscow.
