Great things can come from people who are totally different than the norm. We cannot with any clear conscience exclude any person from being a part of this society. Humanity cannot hope to exist if we exclude anyone because they look, act, talk, walk, feel, think, dress, etc differently than we do. We'll see if this really happens. Oh No, not another special protected group. "Special," of course, meaning "anyone that's outside what I consider normal." If everyone was treated with respect and equal civil rights to begin with, none of this type of legislation would ever be necessary. Besides we all know how jay really feels about the "specials". When I hear somebody arguing that it's wrong to have protections for "special groups", what I hear is them saying "I believe there are groups of people whom it's my absolute right to insult and denigrate, and how dare you tell me otherwise!" Any time you hear somebody saying "But I should be allowed to make fun of <fill in the blank> without getting criticized!" or "But I should be allowed to insult and harass <fill in the blank> without being considered a bad person!", ask "Why?" Why should you be allowed to make fun of anybody without getting criticized for it? Why should you be allowed to insult and harass anybody without being considered a bad person?
