Here you have an open-and-shut case of a rogue, dictatorial regime kidnapping and holding hostage innocent soldiers...soldiers that were not in Iranian waters when they were apprehended. The Brits have the GPS data to prove it. One of the sailors is a woman, making the situation all the more outrageous. On top of all this, Iran is parading the soldiers on TV...in direct violation of the Geneva Convention.

And what does the UN do? Nothing. Why? Because the UN is anti-American, and that makes it anti-Brit. It's time for not only the United States to pull out of the United Nations but for us to kick them out of the United States. Let's form another international organization composed of countries with elected governments that adhere to principles of economic freedom and guaranteed rights for their citizens. The UN? Give it Haiti. The two deserve each other.

The left always tells us we need the U.N. as a place for countries to settle international disputes. Tell me just one

Why does one of the soldiers being a woman make it worse ? You sexist ! Are men soldiers worthy of less of your concern ? Do women deserve more protection ? She did not have to sign up, did she ?

"The U.N.'s response to this naked aggression shows that the organization serves no practical purpose and should be downgraded to a Sunday afternoon tea society."

A more glaring example of their failure was their inability to prevent the naked aggression of the invasion of Iraq! Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should get rid of the U.N., but come on.... put things in proportion. 600,000 dead Iraqis is patriotic you, but the kidnapping of 15 soldiers involved in the overthrow of a sovereign government is an outrage? (I agree it is an outrage that they were kidnapped, but that being so, I cannot find a word strong enough to describe the invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq!)

U.N. should have been evicted decades ago.

The U.N. was very effective at taking millions of dollars in bribes with the oil for food program. Talk about evil and twisted.

The U.N. does not belong to any nation, either big or small, week or powerful. All the member-nations belong to the U.N. If it has ceased to function in this manner, then this Organisation may as well pack up.

the best they can do is to express "grave concern....oh yeah! you may loose count of the times that the UN had expressed their 'grave concerns'...they are the waste of the world's money, time and energy!

Its hell having an organisation that does not always do exactly what certain powers wish it to do.

And yet why are they surprised when these certain powers have done their best to undermine it for years?
