At the risk of sounding like Bones, I understand, anthropologically, why it was forbidden in the past for people of a village to marry, and it even may be a valid action now ( I live in a town of less than 500 people, and trust me, almost everyone is related), but the murder was, I think, wrong. There should be limits to tradition.

Yes. Disgusting, barbaric, STUPID and wrong.

What a sad sad way to meet their end....at the hands of their own loved ones and neighbors. Can there be a worse way to die?

The STOP HONORCIDE! campaign was launched on Mother's Day 2008. The goal of the campaign is to prosecute honorcides to the fullest extent of the law. We want honorcide to be classified as a hate crime and we advocate for every existing hate crime legislation to be amended to include honorcide.

Another story to prove that honor killings have nothing to do with any particular religion.
