Any links to Mesopotamia ?

Not yet, but there should be, Sohil. We know almost for certain that the Obayd culture of Mesopotamia was founded after a wave of immigrants who were mastered on pottery came from Western Iran and arrived to the sites which centuries later became Eridu, Nippur, Lagas and Ur. This early culture was the forerunner of the Sumerian city-states which seized the power at the region almost after a millennia, around 3100 BCE. It seems very likely to me that archaeologists found the homeland of Obayd people's ancestors.
