I already saw on the news how they are reporting this as "scientist discover a system that might have another habitable planet like Earth!" What ever happened to accurate reporting? I hate to nitpick but there is only ONE solar syatem. The system of the star nemed SOL (Sun) A star system around another star cannot be a SOLar System True, but its a common name none the less. It would be more accurate to call them star systems, but outside of sci-fi most people don't use that term, not even among astronomers. i don't think it's wrong to speculate that one of the moons COULD support life, if the conditions are right. It would be silly to think, just by the law of large numbers, that we are the only life in this vast universe. In fact, it's quite probable, that we are not. It's highly unlikely, however, that any other lifeforms have evolved enough to actually found a way to break the light barrier and visit us here, since the closest like galaxy is over 2 million light years away. Most scientists think that man took about 3 million years to evolve to out present form, so without breaking the light barrier, it would be quite unlikely that we've ever been visited. It makes a good movie though let me call C3PO and see what he has to say about that! lol. seriously, how fantastic would be if there´s a planet that can support life, not only our own, but many other species. I´m sure there´s life out there but perhaps not as we imagine. Remember that our specie has been in this planet a very very very short time. Sometimes i lay down and think that the universe has almost 6 billion years old and our specie took how in evolve in what we are right now? not more than 5 million years. I wish to live for ever. let me call C3PO and see what he has to say about that! lol. seriously, how fantastic would be if there´s a planet that can support life, not only our own, but many other species. I thought our universe was in the neighborhood of 13.2 billion as close as cosmologists last figured it? I could be mistaken though. 13.2 billion what? |
