papananook says:
Scientists say the shift could indicate that the Earth is losing its natural ability to soak up billions of tons of carbon each year. Climate models assume that about half our future emissions will be re-absorbed by forests and oceans, but the new figures confirm this may be too optimistic. If more of our carbon pollution stays in the atmosphere, it means emissions will have to be cut by more than currently projected to prevent dangerous levels of global warming.

Martin Parry, co-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s working group on impacts, said: “Despite all the talk, the situation is getting worse. Levels of greenhouse gases continue to rise in the atmosphere and the rate of that rise is accelerating. We are already seeing the impacts of climate change and the scale of those impacts will also accelerate, until we decide to do something about it.”

Yet temperatures continue to drop. And which country has cut emissions the most? You guessed it ... the ONE that did not sign Kyoto. The U.S.

Actually, Kyoto was not approved by the US becuase it did not pass the US Senate when Al Gore was the VP.

So the science you've been reading claims temperatures are continuing to drop...Where? Over the whole planet? Why are all the glaciers melting, then? Methinks you are confusing weather and climate again.

Gore bashing again, Willie...really! Bush has dragged his feet for 7 yrs...no, worse--his profiteering Admin. has turned back the efforts to clean up the environment by 30 yrs...

The glaciers are receding in some places and advancing in others, papananook, just have they have always done. If you think I confuse weather and climate, then you are the one confusing weather and climate.

And which glaciers are those that are growing? Where?

Gimme a break. jeez man, it is not hard to find advancing glaciers - google it.
There are a vast number advancing. The majority of glaciers are definitely receding. That is what glaciers do. They recede and advance, recede and advance. There was a time when glaciers occupied the Tennessee Valley region of the Unitied States. What caused those glaciers to recede?

Similarly, during periods of global cooling it is not beyond reason to assume there couldn't be glaciers receding.

I don't believe you...that's what it comes down to--I've read a lot and I don't believe your "facts", given the bias you bring.

Well, that is perfectly fine.

And, what is my bias?
