America is the most heavily-armed Western nation, and the Western nation with the highest deathrate. What's different in America? Any idiot can buy a gun without registering it.

Sure, let him buy a gun, but register it with the federal government, because if statistics are any proof, his gun will end up in the hands of a criminal within 2 years. Legally-owned guns are the #1 source of guns used in crimes.

The amicus brief, which was filed on behalf of 33 state attorneys general, supports a legal challenge by Otis McDonald, a community activist who lives in a high-crime Chicago neighborhood. McDonald’s work to improve his neighborhood has subjected him to violent threats from drug dealers, but city ordinances prohibit him from obtaining a handgun to protect himself.
