papananook says: a bit of History. Why would we support a regime of Apartheid, anyway? I did a lot of research on this once, didn't find the video though, well done. Brasschecks deserves the credit...I grew up with Jewish friends, love the Jewish people and the books by Leon Uris were some of my favorites (Mila 18, etc), so my disappointment with the Israeli Regime is heartfelt and so sad. For a people so oppressed to turn into the oppressors is shameful. The treatment by the American government and parts of the military, of the HEROES of the Liberty, is one of the most shameful acts committed by any government, anywhere. All Americans who are not demanding an inquiry into this act of betrayal, should hang their heads in shame! I really doubt that they'll reopen this can after all this time...but I agree with you--it's shameful. Yea...the way the gov betrayed the sailers in this Israeli attack on an American ship is pretty sickening. Mila 18,...humm...I hadn't thought of that book in a long time. Blew me away. Thought it was great. And I certainly liked the "actions of the Jews in that Polish ghetto more than the Jews of today in Israel who are starving over a million people to death in the Gaza Strip, and warmongering the world to even more wars in the Middle East. Truth that... And of course "Exodus" about the formation of the Israeli nation-state. Also see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Haj_(novel) |
