All of these good reviews make me want to really see this movie.

By the way, remind again what Christ has to do with Christmas.

"Please send a message to Hollywood and the producers of future films that our culture is one of Christ."

"Dear Hollywood,

You suck. Everyone knows we are a Christian culture. Nothing else is good enough. I know I'm right because God told me. I also know that Pullman is a turd. Because God told me. Thank you.

God save your heathen soul,
Angry Paranoid Christian"

As my old dad once told me, if you don't like it, don't watch it / read it. Perhaps the "Left Behind" books should be translated to film. The image of an angry Christ disemboweling folks with a look should be satisfying to the pious. Pass the popcorn.

Looking at the history of the world for the last 2000 years and seeing Christianity's influence, maybe it's time to try something different. It couldn't be any worse than the mayhem Christianity's given us.

There have been so many movies that goes against christianty and christmas with many people such as or founders dismissing it for little more that something part of astrology but I highly doubt that this is the nail to place the coffin on christ. Why because it is still humdrone to many people second it has to advasaries the Jewish tradition and the Islamic tradition you can't go against christianty and then not go for the others because to weaken one is to strengthen the other two which permeats the faith alltogether they sustain each other no matter how much they try to destroy one another. Its that simple your fighting a three headed dog as you slash at one head the other to grow and bega...

Face it you have to do more than this Atlib to destroy the faith
lol You didn't read Atllib's comment, did you?

The Golden Compass and Religious Criticism
The strategic implications of this to be interesting. The anti-atheist community has decided to fight on grounds that atheists have no interest to fight them on. This will allow them to declare victory. The result will be to give theism a decisive advantage on the production of entertainment friendly to children for years to come.
Keep in mind, the battleground here is not over whether people should or should not see this movie. The battleground is over the attempt to maintain a cul...

Only at the *end* will you really know who was right.

With Christianity I have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. We all die. Then what?? It doesn't hurt to check Him out. I, like many others much smarter than I, did with no regrets. Sure, there are kooks but you will find no serious Christian who will claim sinless perfection....that's why we're Christians. We recognize that we are flawed and struggle. Don't continue in the superficial vein. Take the claims seriously and commit yourself to the *search*. Like me...you have nothing to lose. And you may just find some amazing peace and hope in your life.

Ah, the wonderful Pascal's Wager, but it ignores the possibility that the god you will end up face-to-face with may not be the Christian god.
If you live as though your god exists…
* If your god exists, you go to heaven; your gain is infinite.
* If another god exists, you go to that god’s version of hell; your loss is infinite.
* If no god exists, your loss is nothing.

If you live as though a different god exists…
* If that god exists, you go to its version of heaven: your gain is infinite.
* If [i]your[/...

I don't really *get* what you're saying.

Living by the standards revealed in the Scriptures offers the best possibilities for happiness and tranquility in the chaos that is the World. Nothing is sure here. Nothing is *sure* there. But there have been things that have happened to convince me that pursuing the God of the Scriptures is worth my time and my life.

I'm not a philosopher. There are some thing that are not 'knowable' so I choose to live by the things that I *know* through life's experiences, deduction and common sense. The One Who brought this World into existence must want His creation to know Him. If not, well, "eat, drink and be merry...." I choose to do that and trust ...

Did you even read the clip or Atllib's comment? This title was tongue in cheek. Or do you not really *get* that either?

Oh crap. More end times lunacy.
With Christianity I have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.
As laceym so aptly explained, this is simply Pascal's Wager. Please do a bit of research if you can pull yourself away from your Gud Book.
And you may just find some amazing peace and hope in your life.
You evidently don't realize that this is arrogant bullsh*t. Stop it.

Mel Gibson tried to do that in "Passion of the Christ," but I think it got edited out of the final script.
