Good point, though I don't see what good protests are, especially against Bush. It's like shouting at a brick wall.

If the people were really against the war we could have stopped it with a national strike--but 'we' weren't sincerely anti-war, just pissed that it was going bad and we weren't winning. Such a weird nation we have. Jingoistic patriots seem to have more sway than honest men of conscience.

VOTE FOR BETTER LEADERS.

DEFEAT AS MANY WARMONGERING REPUBLICANS AS POSSIBLE.

Stop printing *hit about "the American people," don't care and wake up and look around and join the millions who do care and are working with democracy to kick out these warmongering bastards.

And please...please...don't even talk *hit about how blagh blag nothing works blagh blagh and try something that does work: CHANGING LEADERSHIP.

I saw nothing wrong with taking out Saddam Hussein (though if we hadn't brought him to power in the first place, or at least had finished the job in the first gulf war, we woudln't have been there either way). It's crazy how people forget how awful he was toward his own people (genocide, using bio weapons against his people, rape, etc..). What I did find wrong was the awful intelligence we had,...

I'm sorry but I am convinced that real change does not come with a change in leadership. We've had a new congress for 3 years now, and what have they done? Nothing. Politicians are only interested in your vote, they'll say whatever they have to say to get it.

'we took out Saddam...'
Yeah, that's just great--except we "took out" about a million civilians and gave up 4,000+ Americans, displaced another 4 million Iraqis, severely disabled 30,000+ more Americans and who knows how many are suffering mental disease now....So was it worth all that to you to "take out Saddam"? If it was, you are one cold bastard but so are a lot of 'Merrikans...it wasn't worth it to me.

As for political leaders--we get what we vote for in a rigged system all about $$$ and two party/electoral college bullshit . We need to change it from the bottom up AND the top down. Systemically. In other words a revolution of a sort that won't be easy, given the stranglehold the military and the corporate monopoly fascists have on this USA. Pay attention! read somethin' besides Fox news and the NY times.

I don't believe it was worth it.

What I did find wrong was the awful intelligence we had, the awful
leadership that we had, and the fact that we occupied the country for 5
years.
I think we should have gone in, shot Saddam in the rat hole he was found in (or be...

So, It's OK for the USA to invade a country of a leader we helped finance but later didn't like and kill him and then leave. Wel, NOW I get it, JM, THAT makes more sense then. (?!)

"Later didn't like and kill him". Do you think Hitler Jr. was likeable??? And yes I don't see a problem with just taking out the dictator and then supporting the IRAQIS.

Do you live in some kinda dreamworld, JM? Supporting the Iraqis was the last thing on the Neocons' minds. They wanted a foothold in the Mideast and lotsa profits for the scum like Halliburton and the rest of Cheney's buddies. Big oil, remember? Pay fuckin' attention for awhile.

Conspiracy theory is just that, theory. I certainly think oil had something to do with us staying in Iraq, which is why I don't support the 5 year long occupation, but fact and speculation are two different things. Again, we should have done the job, done it right, and came home.

OK--here's a fact PNAC (Project for A New American Century) is real...not a theory. Those fuckers, Cheney included and especially are evil.... PAY ATTENTION, MAN!
