i laugh at the people that laugh at this stuff. We'd be pretty egotistic to believe that we are the only civilization in the universe. Just consider....take 1 handful of sand, try to count he grains. But wait that isn't enough.....
Take every grain of sand on this planet and even try to imagine the number. Now consider proven fact that for every grain of sand there is a planet if not more then that great sum.
We are only one in that number ?........ i think not.
may take until we develop light speed and learn wormhole structure but i feel someday paths will meet.
Theory's as to why they don't just make contact abound. My own theory is to them we are as civilized at caveman would be to us...

As for religious beliefs i don't think it contradicts it one bit. Is god limited in knowledge that he could only make 1 world........
