I'm so sad for her.

I think she may be giving up for now to avoid all the stress, which has been right in the middle of her healing process. Kevin seems to be quite open to her having a much larger role and eventually joint custody, so I'm thinking this might be part of an agreement to let her continue to get better without the stress of court proceedings.
