I wouldn't want the news stations to stop covering the most important news of the day, but i'm thinking that in the long run this will actually have a greater effect on the world than Paris Hilton.

Don't you think this is what happens in war? The *Iraqis* (whatever their ilk) are closing ranks against the interlopers who are reeking more havoc in their country. I seriously doubt this would be a long-term alliance, but this is a difference shade of foreigner for them. By and large, I believe the Iraqis, whatever their sect, would view the largest threat to the stability and safety of their people to be Al-Qaeda.
