Interesting article arifsali, however a more pertinent example would have been the End Permian event approximately 250 mya, this extinction wiped out around 90% of all life and 50% of family (in the Taxonomic sense.) Compared to the End Cretaceous which killed the dinosaurs but the total extinction was only around 50% and was most likely from an extra-terrestrial source.* However it is nice to see a religious person who can see the beauty in evolution.
