So the drug maker is basically admitting their lobbyists were putting too much pressure on law makers in several states. That's a sad commentary on the way politics works in this country.

The drug companies keep their prices high in the hopes that the government will mandate the vaccine. If the government mandates vaccinations, insurance companies will have to cover the vaccine. Then the drug companies can negotiate a price for the drug with the insurance companies.
