ericskiff says: There's a million things I hate about DRM, but the main one is that it's often used to restrict behavior that its not illegal, but is simply not in the record companies favor. Give me a reasonably priced, DRM-free .mp3 download service, and I'll never buy a CD again. I was going to write a long rant. But I'll keep it simple. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING - MUSIC, FILM etc - that restrict how I can use it. So by 'protecting' your product - you have lost a sale. I support the owners right to make money from their art. But 'copyright' which was meant to give the artist exclusive distribution rights - has become rights that control the use of the art. This is wrong. Imagine this ... when you buy a poster "... in using this poster you agree to the following... this poster will be place on a wall. It may not occupy a wall with any other poster unless all the other posters are by the same artist. ..." |
