pinkziab says:
For those who just don't get it (and I know there will be many, sadly), this is meant to be taken facetiously. It makes you realize just how ridiculous 99.9% of the arguments against gay marriage really are.

I stand corrected: It makes anyone with common sense realize it.

Not surprisingly those attempting to redefine marriage also redefine commonsense, as they have already abandoned it in its true meaning.

Yes it is ridiculous. We Christians have a whole world of suffering that needs us, but oh no those gay people want to keep to themselves and be happy!
Some day these pastors will come before God and He will say 'I was hungry and you did not feed me, I was naked and you did not clothe me. Where were you?' And they'll say 'I had to go keep these guys in Massacusetts from having legal rights when they lived together..'

Not your usual sage self, Mr Youth. Your comment suggests that there is one issue of importance; bodily comfort. Most religions consider matters of the soul's health of great importance.

I always kinda wondered why (usually religious) people have to condemn them and "do something about" Gay and Lesbian couples - I mean, whatever god the religious person is trying to convert them to will punish the Gay / Lesbian people in the deity's own good time...

Plus, I think most of the Gay / Lesbian population understand that 99.9% of religions condemn them, so they don't really need anyone else preaching at them, and I've not met one yet that was "saved" by said preaching...

So why can't the fanatics leave them alone and give it to their deity (provided it exists) to handle?

What? he doesn't agree with you, so he's no longer wise Lol.. figures.

PS: his comments suggest some weird things to you.. I saw simply that maybe Christians should focus on the more important things like feeding and housing and clothing those in need. Aren't they in more need?? Shouldn't you spend your efforts on them, they who are in more need?

[i]So why can't the fanatics leave them alone.../i]

This is how many--religious or not--feel about the more extreme elements that claim representation of all homosexuals and their fanaticism in attempting to force a redefinition of marriage. The Agenda is not content to be "left alone".

their fanaticism in attempting to force a redefinition of marriage.
Unfortunately, the difference is, you don't see quite as many Gay / Lesbian people killing straight people to let them marry. (See: Gay Pride Parade in Israel, et. al)

Perhaps I'm a bit naive (I've been told that before!), but I think they would (for the most part) simply like to have the same rights (tax breaks, etc) as a heterosexual couple... Besides, what does a gay marriage REALLY take away from a straight marriage anyway? For every Gay couple that gets married, a Heterosexual couple divorces?

But my original comment was directed specifically at those people that feel that they are "doing their...

I am angered / saddened by the fact that the country that prides itself, quite rightly, on espousing civil liberties wishes to impose an unrealistic standard of morality. The gay / lesbian world comprises about 11 or 12 % of the population at least. Maybe more. Doesn't such a large chunk of the population have any rights? I know it the moral majority would leave the gays alone, the gays would be delighted to forget their tormentors.
