Powderhorn study. The control class received the standard 55 minutes a
week of Kodály music instruction, where the classroom teacher was
not present. Three of the classes were given an extra 30 minutes of Kodály
music instruction with their classroom teacher in the music room. Teachers
then applied music skills they learned in Kodály classes to the
math and reading concepts they taught to students in homeroom, while the
music instructor reinforced concepts that students were learning in class.
