That would be the "theory" part of the clip. Nowhere is it claimed as definitive. Try again.

This is one theory I haven't heard. I am really interested to know where all the bees went. I've witnessed the decline in numbers first hand.

How have you witnessed the decline?

I have a lemon tree and every spring when the flowers bloom, I have so many bees on it, happily pollinating. This year, I've seen ONE. Seriously, just the one bee. It wasn't just fewer bees, which I would have hardly noticed, it was the almost complete lack of bees that was so noticeable and so sudden.

Then, we were on a bluebonnet excursion (state flower of Texas) and we found a huge field (maybe 3 or 4 acres) of wildflowers to take pictures in, and NO BEES. Usually I am so nervous about this trip because I'm so scared of bees. But there just weren't any. In the whole field of flowers (at least where we were). It's disturbing. Kind of like when you notice the woods are suddenly silent.

Wow! Firsthand coverage is always the most telling. I'll have to check the bluebonnets in my area (I'm also in Texas, BTW). Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing bees around my mountain laurels when they bloomed this year.
