It seems to me that more people outside of the U.S. can see what's going on that those inside.

'Fraid you're right. So many kids have to finish growing up in jail now. War on drugs, too, has locked up thousands for petty offenses. When I was a kid, nobody got busted for the stuff that puts kids in prison today. Then Nixon wanted the 18-21 year olds' votes, the age was lowered, and teenagers started getting tried and imprisoned as adults.
