n2sooners says: The downside for conservatives is that many more liberals than conservatives seem to think they are moderates which makes the numbers much closer and this poll only useful in the way it trends. Over the years, it’s been confusing. Both parties have had conservatives, liberals, and moderates. And still do. I know, it’s hard to believe there are any conservative Democrats, but truth be told, there are. I can’t name one, but trust me, they exist. The only conservative Democrat I knew of was Zell Miller. It would be interesting to know the criteria used to describe "conservative". I think conservative Democrats may be the ones who approve of nationalizing large sections of the economy - just not in their lifetimes. In a lot of places in the south there are people who are old school democrats much like Zel Miller who simply haven't bothered to change their party affiliation. They vote democrat locally, but tend to vote republican nationally. I know some like that, I even know some who are registered democrat because they have always been registered democrat, but they don't even vote democrat on the local level. You may not be the Conservative or Liberal that you think you are. A good friend, a retired Colonel from the Army Security Agency, sent me this World's Smallest Political Quiz. I was quite surprised as to the results. You may, too. http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html Thanks Steve...I'm a tad right of center and knew that. :~) I've taken those before. Depending on the exact questions I always seem to fall around that conservative/libertarian border. Your PERSONAL issues Score is 90%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%. According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...LIBERTARIAN BTW that's the worlds shortest quiz That quiz rocks....I scored as a libertarian.... And it was really short....Thanks, Steve! Libertarian: Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 90% LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.. |
