Because of the greed of empire and because people only tend to care about themselves Mug. We could have had a cure for cancer 10 times over by now if we had been spending the money on things that benefit us all instead of bombs to make companies rich. But most people could care less about putting our money back into programs that would benefit us all. They want to make the rich richer and to heck with the poor because they are lazy and anyway they buy into the dream that they are all gonna be rich one day. Well guess what? Money and possessions do not make you happy for any length of time and no one knows this better than I.

I think that being true to oneself and giving make you happy Mug, and by that I don't mean formal gifts of money. It can be beyond that; emotional giving; a compassionate act with no expectation of a reward, not even a "thank you" in return.

I too have pain every day. Since 1966, I was in a car accident. I take 16 pain pills a day. I know what she's going through. Now our airconditioner has failed & the summer heat is a coming. We can't afford it.
Now that's depression.

@ Steve: It hurts me to even read that you need to take 16 tabs every day to combat the pain. Pray God that you should be blessed with a new cure for your problem! I have seen miracles happen in my life and around me too! May U be blessed with one such miracle!
