Wisco says: He's right and he's also right to point out that McCain seems to be running for the position of President of Iraq. For the right, Iraq isn't a pointless sidetrip, but the be-all and end-all of fighting terrorism -- to the detriment of addressing terrorism anywhere else. At this point, the only real reason we're fighting is to preserve George W. Bush's reputation. That's a pretty crappy cause to ask people to die for. We are also still there to protect those no bid oil companies to get their hold in place. And that will be why we will want to keep a force there. But that force will probably be Blackwater. Thugs protecting the slugs. But if we change our foreign policy, who will save the world from the next generation of dictators America puts in place (like Saddam)? What will neocon foreign policy people do for a living if we don't take down nations, put in our own lackeys, then come back in 20 years to do it over when the lackeys get independent? It's the cycle of life! |
