Antara says: I have never been happier for Canada. Good riddance! I was so ashamed to see how he spoke to the fabulous Ayan Hirsi Ali....even though she pretty much wiped the floor with him. You can watch that here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08EYqwyns-k&feature=related I don't care about Avi Lewis's career (who the heck is Avi Lewis?) but I followed your link to that interview on YouTube and found how he spoke to the fabulous Ayan Hirsi Aliwas debonair as well as (sufficiently) professional. But it is not Lewis's concerns what interests me. It's Hirsi Ali's undifferentiated speaking about both Islam and the U.S.A. Does she really think in terms of black and white? The U.S.A. - the best democracy, the best place to be, the best nation in the world? And, what is an even more astonishing statement: Islam - an enslavement doctrine? O sancta simplicitas! Maybe I must become a born-again to appreciate that appropriately? If you feel it important enough to comment on, you should pop it,no? As for "Who is Avi Lewis"....I just told you As for Ayan's comments, she has earned the right to speak freely and honestly about her experiences. She lived it. You are free to disagree, but since she is now a self confessed 'Muslim -Atheist'......being born again doesn't seem to be necessary, does it? I didn't find the pop button, hon. I venerated Ayaan Hirsi Ali when she lived and operated in the Netherlands. I never thought my West Frisian neighbours could be so folly to make her leave her new home country. Now, across the pond, in the United States, she seems to get bogged down in stereotypes which I don't shy away from questioning. "Muslim-Atheist" Empty set, containing one element. Greenish red. I really wish I were born again! No harm meant, J. |
