I just saw a psa for kids about this. They basically said the same stuff: look away and don't run. I think that's hard for a scared kid to do, though.

I've encountered lots of dog owners in my local park who ignore leash laws and think "I'll do whatever I want" (as one actually said to me). Now I always carry pepper spray. It doesn't hurt the dogs permanently.

I'll be beyond pissed if someone goes and gets a stick and attempts to put it in the dog's mouth; I'll be far more pleased if they indulge in some serious animal cruelty; so much so we could become life-long friends, that is how true love starts right there, proven fact, swear it
