This is fascinating. I've always thought it was weird how some people feel the need to make *every* part of their life somehow religious. It strikes me as insincere. In fact, giving Bibles for Christmas would even raise concerns for me, since it seems people are thinking more about the physical (mundane) manifestations of their religion, rather than the actual meaning.

It's strikingly superficial.

Isn't giving explicitly Christian gifts just a way of avoiding having to have a deeper understanding of Christianity? I mean, finding God in the Bible doesn't take a lot of imagination - it's pretty blunt. Finding God in Tickle-Me-Elmo, on the other hand, should qualify a person for Sainthood!
