So getting a little philosophical - can Google be unseated? Absolutely. Will it? Not in any kind of near term and arguably long term, if you look at what they're doing, where the user base is going, where the corporate computing is going and how well others compare to them and having a $475/share stock price doesn't hurt them either, something that is not only very atypical for any company, but especially so for companies that buy other companies.

We have a Google office where I live, conveniently located 15 minutes away from Microsoft. Their job postings, ANY job postings, require a Master's degree. Not the usual Bachelor's or experience but would like Master's, but require Master's. That alone should tell you a little about the caliber of people working for that company.

RS, who says i was talking about blowing up. What you said about Google is right. My only point was that it should not become a GOD that is worshipped. Because a GOD by definition is eternal and doesnt die. But with technological advancement the way it is, everything today is guaranteed to be improved maybe a billion times tomorrow. This is the evolution i believe in. One that is driven by planning and thought, not one that happens by random chance events.

So today the best search system is google. Tomorrow search may no longer be relevant and something else comes in that somehow does away with the need for it. Eg something linked directly to the brain and automatically brings what you are ...
