I'm personally sick to death of it all, and I don't think these sorts of thinkers can be reached and I'm tired of trying. I'm tired of my words being twisted and turned against me, I'm tired of being accused of being leftist and communist and socialist for answering the biblical and moral and ethical call to fight unjust superpowers whether the are Babylon, Rome, or even America. My understanding of the meaning of the non-violent Kingdom of God and the messages of peace has been misrepresented by modern right-wing theologians and televangelists to justify U.S military actions in the Middle East. But there is a hopeful message that cannot be ignore in these turbulent times--a peace that surpasses all understanding and a kingdom based on peace and justice and fair and equal treatment of all people.

So, that's a lot of common sense. The big problem, though, is getting enough votes, getting enough politicians to get serious and change policy --- and to try to not let them get away with the latest scam, trying to say: PEACE EQUALS LESS WAR.

This lack of response by our politicans is sad but it is not the people's fault. It the situation we were all born into and we're trying to dig ourselves out of this hole and it ain't easy, and it's hard to come up with consensus ideas, had to come up with an agreed focus for action, hard to come up with actions that have a real power to make change and not just an expression of sympathy.

Here's my ideas. Let me make clear: MAYBE THEY ARE CRAZY (Um...the recall idea gets that reaction now and then). BUT THEY ARE AN ATTEMPT.

And there are many, many links to all the other main sites that are also trying, so not just promoting what my small group has come up with but pointing the way to larger groups who also have good ideas.

But it ain't easy.

I think it IS possible such people to reach positions of power (or influence!) and not become corrupt. I'm tired right now and can't think up too many here and now, but a few that come to mind are Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, The Dalai Lama, Oprah Winfrey and people like that. (I don't think these people could be bought f.ex.) They could potentially have abused their various positions for their own greed and well-being only, but chose to be "good examples" and role models and (IMO) *good people* too. The assault on Afghanistan - a country whose leaders, the Taliban, actually DID shelter and support Al Qaeda (and thus that government was an entirely legitimate target for us to strike back against) - was an easy war to justify, and once our soldiers were fighting somewhere and people were starting to get used to the idea of soldiers of being in danger, it made it just that much easier to...

We overthrew the Taliban, but then we just took off, and the Taliban is now regaining much of the pre-9/11 power they had there, and we're not doing a damn thing about it.

Even before Bush took office, the Neocons flat out said in the documents for the Project for a New American Century that they wanted a war in Iraq and that if there were another catastrophe on the scale of Pearl Harbour they could use it as a justification for attacking Iraq. I know that many people consider that proof of the idea that the Administration was involved in the 9/11 attacks, but honestly, I don't think this group could possibly have kept something like that quiet - it would take far too many people to pull it off and SOMEONE would speak out - plus I just don't think they're that competent. But might they have known about the possibility of some kind of an attack and just decided to do nothing about it? That I might be able to buy - it's no secret that "terrorism" was completely ignored as priority in the DoJ and many tips that might have led to preventing the attacks were ignored.
