I have to admit that I take complete offense to this article. As a single mother of two young children I can say that I do not drive a fancy SUV or take fun family vacations. Since our split in July my ex has had his oldest daughter 3 weekend. 2 of those weekends were only a Saturday to Sunday because if he has a whole weekend it cuts into his social time with his girlfriend. He also considers those few weekends that he has had our oldest that I am, "dumping her on him". I have received NO financial support from him and now he is ordered to pay 475 a month. Weekly that won't even cover the childcare costs for our 7 month old. He continues to be covered by my works health insurance. ...

Ohh and also I didn't keep the house. I let him have it and signed over my marital property rights to him because it was his "dream home" with the agreement he'd help to take care of the girls financially. Women like me need the legal system to protect our rights and our children.

You sound like a great mom wurdzgurl!

I refuse to let my children become monetary equations in a court of law.

I'd imagine that divorce is most probably a economic hardship on women more than men.
